Speedroute Hybrid adds a dedicated static public IPv4 to Starlink or fixed broadband, with automatic 4G failover that preserves the static IP. When the primary WAN drops, the router switches to cellular. The WireGuard tunnel re-establishes. The static IP is unchanged.
Failover behaviour
| Event | Standard router | Speedroute Hybrid |
|---|---|---|
| Primary WAN drops | Internet lost | 4G failover in seconds |
| Static IP during failover | N/A | Unchanged |
| Monitoring centre access during outage | Lost | Maintained via 4G |
| IP whitelist valid after failover? | N/A | Yes — same static IP |
Primary WAN options
- Starlink: ethernet adapter to Speedroute WAN. Static IP over Starlink. 4G fallback if Starlink drops.
- FTTC / FTTP: broadband router LAN to Speedroute WAN. 4G fallback on circuit failure.
- Leased line: same method. Static IP maintained during outage.
