Speedroute Hybrid: Starlink or Broadband with 4G Failover and Static IP

Starlink or broadband primary, 4G automatic failover, static IPv4 maintained on both.

Speedroute Hybrid adds a dedicated static public IPv4 to Starlink or fixed broadband, with automatic 4G failover that preserves the static IP. When the primary WAN drops, the router switches to cellular. The WireGuard tunnel re-establishes. The static IP is unchanged.

Failover behaviour

Event Standard router Speedroute Hybrid
Primary WAN drops Internet lost 4G failover in seconds
Static IP during failover N/A Unchanged
Monitoring centre access during outage Lost Maintained via 4G
IP whitelist valid after failover? N/A Yes — same static IP

Primary WAN options

  • Starlink: ethernet adapter to Speedroute WAN. Static IP over Starlink. 4G fallback if Starlink drops.
  • FTTC / FTTP: broadband router LAN to Speedroute WAN. 4G fallback on circuit failure.
  • Leased line: same method. Static IP maintained during outage.
